Be a Crusader for Arts and Sciences.
Calling all artisans:
There will be an A&S display at Siege this year. Please bring your projects to display. Documentation is desired but not necessary. Although this is not a competition, there will be prizes for our Countess and Count’s choice. Your projects can be works in progress. Also you may sit with your projects but that is not mandatory. Someone will be there at all times to ensure the safety of your work. Our wonderful youth are encouraged to participate as there will be a special youth category. All items will be accepted from 10AM in the first barn. You will see the signs for the A&S Display. Please come and see the projects and there will be an opportunity to comment on each item.
The A&S display will run from 10 am to 3:30 pm and all entries must be picked up by 4 pm.

No Public Showers
Be aware, this is more of a true primitive camping event as there are no on-site showers. So grab the solar bag and or the Zodi and toss it in with you camping gear!

Fencing
Friday
Fencing Torchlight Tourney – Lord Takeda Sanjuichiro Akimasa
Inspections and warm-ups will begin 7:00-7:30 actual fighting will begin when dark about 8:30.
Saturday
There will be 2 prize tournaments on Saturday – times will be decided by participants choice.
#1: Purse of DoppelSoldat
This will be a single elimination challenge tourney, very quick, very simple. Fought for the prize of a custom purse full of “gold” (not the chocolate kind).
The catch; this is a rapier two handed weapon tournament… Bastard swords or bigger.
#2: Last man Standing
This will be a grand melee, last person standing in the fine tradition of a collegia streetfight. Period insults and challenges encouraged, bring your wit as well as your rapier! Exact prize to be decided (yay, got to love when your supplier is out of stock) but will be a piece one can use on the rapier field. Weapon choice is open but no two
handed weapons.

Childrens Activities
The kids will be learning about Galileo and Copernicus. They will be able to look through a telescope NOT AT THE SUN OR SKY BUT AT THINGS AT GROUND LEVEL! Make a telescope out paper towel rolls and draw a map of the solar system as Galileo saw it with some glitter and stick on jewels. They will also get a work book of about seven pages with things to read and do and sources on the web they can look up.
